LOW-L COMMENT: Wed Jun 4 17:05:30 GMT 1997
L00457 pooped out of deive #0 automatically as it should have, and data
started going to drive #1. But due to a problem with the CHIP tape drive,
and with Steve's permission, I removed drive #1 and installed it on the
Kii system temporarily. I placed L00458 in drive #0 which is the only
drive for Lowl temporarily. We can manually change tapes in the morning
after a tape has more than 86 files on it, a tape can hold 106 files.
CHIP COMMENT: Wed Jun 4 17:09:49 GMT 1997
Running with data going to tape drive #1 borrowed from Lowl. I installed
the same active terminator on this drive that was used on the spare
drive when it kept failing. The active terminator on Lowl tape drive #0
is the one usually installed on Lowl tape drive #1.
WEATHER COMMENT: Wed Jun 4 17:34:29 GMT 1997
I don't see any haze or cirrus but the sky looks bright on the dPMon
occulted images, and on the MKIII images.
MKIII COMMENT: Wed Jun 4 17:35:54 GMT 1997
Scans look bad, as if signal is amplified too much, maybe it is due to dust
or aerosols above us.

Had a "Optics:Busy" crash at 1928, will do Kill/Run to restart.

CHIP COMMENT: Wed Jun 4 20:00:37 GMT 1997
Finally got Patrol running again, couldn't get Run to work until I
adjusted the connections on the Ethernet Transceivers, before that I kept
getting the message:
Make Mechanism Control Computer ready then Run again.
DPMON COMMENT: Wed Jun 4 20:09:44 GMT 1997
Just noticed that there was an "Optics:Busy" crash on this instrument at
1928 also. Maybe the Ethernet connection problem caused loss of contact
between the MCC and Kii and Nene, causing the crashes to happen at the
same time. Will use Kill/Run to fix.

CHIP COMMENT: Wed Jun 4 20:52:40 GMT 1997
"Optics:Busy" crash caused by me wiggling the ethernet connections trying
to figure out why the network to HAO was down. It turns out that it
wasn't a local network problem, at least not until I wiggled those
connections. Did Kill/Run to fix it.

DPMON COMMENT: Wed Jun 4 20:54:44 GMT 1997
"Optics:Busy" crash at exactly the same time as with the CHIP, see
previous CHIP comment for information. Fixed with Kill/Run.

Starting to get dust blown up here from construction site. Sky is
getting brighter too.

Stopping observations due to dust, will do some things in Hilo.
