I found that there was a tar output list file for our first backup attempt
on 6/19, so Haoshengs changes did work.  I changed back that line of code
and I'll do the 2nd tape backup tonight, hopefully tomorrow there will be
a file called 19980621.tar.log to compare to today's file (19980620.tar.log).
I also added some clarifying comments to the screen prompt outputs, and found
and deleted that unmatched " that was always causing an error message.
